A talented angler from America pulled a blue catfish (Ictalurus furcatus) from Lake Stillhouse Hollow, which he went to in mid-July this year.

Verdict? The certified equipment showed 42.5 pounds in weight (nearly 19.3 kilograms) and 43.9 inches in length (nearly 111.45 centimeters).

This is officially a new Texas state record.

We also recently reported on Robert Glover’s feat. At the beginning of August, a Morgantown resident caught a sunny bass (Lepomis gibbosus), a fish from the Centrarchidae (trout) family, in Cheat Lake.

She was 9.76 inches (24.79 centimeters) and 0.75 pounds (0.34 kilograms).

In this case, we are talking about a new West Virginia state record.

• White sea buckleaf (Morone chrysops) – 41.81 kg – Robert Hornstrom (Meadville resident) – 2002 – Conneaut Lake, Crawford County.
