The huge and deadly spider surprised everyone. The case is surprising

Although Australia is famous for spiders, even local zoo workers are sometimes surprised by them. Recently, one of them received a record-breaking giant.
The situation occurred at the Australian Reptile Park located in Somersby on the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. This is where the record-breaking funnel-web spider of its kind was brought, measuring as much as 9.2 cm. Park employees reported the discovery.

The unusual specimen was immediately described as huge and deadly. The staff unanimously stated that a spider of this species had never been seen to be so large in history. Hemsworth, as the newcomer was called, was even larger than his predecessor named Hercules, who is 7.9 centimeters tall and arrived in 2024. As you can see, this one didn’t enjoy first place for long.
The discovery of the giant spider was commented on by Emma Teni, a keeper of such animals working in the park. “It’s the biggest spider,” she assured. “He was so big compared to his peers that he reminded me of Chris Hemsworth and his brothers and how they tower over the average person,” she continued, explaining where his name came from.
A photo of the giant is circulating on the Internet
Photos showing a giant funnel cake from Australia immediately went viral on Facebook and other social media. Internet users actively reacted to the sight of Hemsworth and did not hide their admiration. “Fantastic spider. I’m proud that we Australians have the deadliest creatures in the world,” one person commented.
Park officials said the spider would contribute to the good of medicine. It is known that it will be “milked” of the venom, which will later be turned into a life-saving antivenom. Before it was introduced into use, many people died from the bites of this species. Since the drug began to be used, no more victims have been reported. Australian residents are urged to be vigilant about these funnel worms, catch them and hand them over to appropriate institutions.
It is worth remembering that although the mentioned species reached a record size, it did not surpass the largest spider in Australia, which is still the whistling tarantula. It has eight legs and is larger than a human hand.
