The holiday country is introducing changes regarding entry. They will also include Poles
Poles going to Thailand will have to have a special document. The new rules come into force on December 1.
Thailand is another country that introduces the requirement for its guests to have an ETA document. The obligation of electronic travel authorization known in the United States has recently been announced in the United Kingdom. The authorities of the Kingdom of Thailand will introduce the authorization system on a pilot basis on December 1, 2024. The new regulations will apply to citizens of 93 countries around the world, including Poles.
Thailand only with ETA
A valid passport will no longer be sufficient for Polish citizens who plan to travel to Thailand after December 1, 2024. In just over two months, the ETA program will enter into force, requiring Poles and tourists from 92 other countries to have a special document confirming their identity. ETA, the electronic travel authorization system, is intended to help services identify travelers eligible for visa-free entry. The ETA will apply to everyone regardless of whether they arrive in Thailand by plane, ship or land. Although at first the entire system will be launched only in a pilot version, all its elements will come into force on June 1, 2025.
No additional fee
The good news is that there is no additional fee that travelers would have to pay for completing the application. The application will have to be completed before departure on the official website – ultimately, obtaining permission from the Thai ministry for entry should not take longer than a few hours. “After accepting our application, we will receive a special QR code that we will have to scan when crossing the border, e.g. at the airport,” we read on the Fly4free.pl website. This year, Poles also received the opportunity to stay in Thailand longer than before. Instead of 30 days under visa-free entry, Polish citizens can enjoy holidays in this Asian country for up to 60 days.
