PKP boasted a record number of journeys in history. This is due to the promotion of tickets for PLN 1 on the occasion of National Education Day.
On October 14, young people and students literally “took over” PKP trains, and there have not been such crowds at stations for a long time. On National Education Day, teachers, pupils and students could travel on any PKP Intercity train for PLN 1. The promotion turned out to be a hit.
Record journeys in PKP
A spokesman for PKP Intercity said that over 315,000 young people used tickets at a symbolic price. Total number of PKP passengers On October 14, it totaled 437,000 people. This is the best result in all of 2025 and in the carrier’s history. Recordings from railway stations in large cities show it even better.
The previous record reached 356,000. passengers and was beaten on the long weekend of August 17, 2025.

In an interview with WP, Intercity spokesman Maciej Dutkiewicz pointed out that October is the month when the fewest people choose to travel by train, and the pre-sale of tickets started 20 days before the scheduled promotion date, which made it possible to plan it in advance.
