The great return of the world champion to PlusLiga! He is the author of the success of the Polish national team
Stephane Antiga returns to work in PlusLiga. The Frenchman has just been officially presented as the new Polish champion coach, Bogdanka Luk Lublin.
There is nothing to hide, it is a really hit traffic on the volleyball market. Bogdanka Luk Lublin first officially parted with her current coach Massimo Bottim, who chose the Asseco Resovia Rzeszów offer. The Lublin club, however, did not intend to not put on another, strong character as a trainer. The choice fell on the world champion with the Polish national team from 2014, the legend of world volleyball.
PlusLiga: Stephane Antiga in Bogdance Luk Lublin. It’s a real hit!
Stephane Antiga officially returns to work in men’s volleyball. The Frenchman led the men’s team for the last time in the 2018/19 season. At that time, Antiga led ONICO Warsaw (today’s PGE Project) to the runner -up of Poland. Now the entry threshold is even greater, because the Frenchman took over gold medalists – Bogdanka Luk Lublin.
What like what, but the fight for the highest rate is even inscribed in Antiga’s volleyball DNA. The most famous story of his CV already as a coach – remembering how great a player he was in the past – the first job he undertook is. Antiga received a lot of trust from the Polish Volleyball Federation, when just after the end of his career, he became a selector of Poles.
Antiga created a golden duo with his assistant, which you can’t forget. Philippe Blain served the enormity of experience for a beginner compatriot. Together, however, the French duo led to the world championship Polish team, 40 years after the success achieved by the famous team of coach Hubert Jerzy Wagner. MVP of that tournament was then chosen by Mariusz Wlazły, with whom Antiga was able to reach an agreement and persuade to participate in the 2014 World Cup organized in Poland.
With the Polish national team, the French coach won the bronze of the World Cup (2015), and also led the team in the Olympic tournament (Rio de Janeiro 2016). Antiga also led the Canadians as a selector. Then he started working in Rzeszów, already with women, running the local KS Developres.
After the five runner -ups of Poland in the female edition, two Super Cups, a short episode in the Italian league in Savino del Bene Scandicci, Antiga returned to Developres again and reached for the title in the 2024/25 season. It can therefore be safely said that the Frenchman moves from one championship to … the other championship team.
The 49 -year -old Frenchman certainly faces a big challenge. Appetites aroused by Wilfredo Leon and the company in Lublin are certainly huge.
