The great return of Czesław Michniewicz! There is already a lot of talk about this movement

What until recently seemed rather unrealistic may soon be possible. Czesław Michniewicz is among the people who can find employment in the ranks of Wieczysta Kraków. The first-league team, with a really large budget and ambitions to conquer not only the PKO BP Ekstraklasa base, is currently looking for a new coach. Michniewicz is a name high on the wish list.

Since the Krakow newcomer appeared in the Betclic 1. Liga, there has been constant talk about what is happening – both in sports and outside the Wieczyczna pitch. After a successful opening of the season, when the Krakow team was even second in the table, its form has now regressed.

Interestingly, with the second place in the top league, Krakow decided to change the coach. Przemysław Cecherz lost his job then. He was succeeded by Gino Lettieri. However, the Italian did not manage to stay in Krakow for long, because before he started working with the team for good, he had several disappointing results and… was fired. Three matches were enough: a draw and two defeats.

As you can see, patience with the coaches in Wieczyńska is relatively short, and the club’s owner – the Krakow “king of pharmacies” Wojciech Kwiecień – is apparently looking for an optimal solution that will give him a place in the PKO BP Ekstraklasa.

And it is on this basis that Lettieri’s successors include some really strong names, considering the Polish reality. Sebastian Staszewski, a journalist currently writing, among others, informed about the fittings. for “Fakt”.

“Wieczysta is looking for a new coach. The club’s list includes several high-profile names, including… former coach Czesław Michniewicz. Another candidate is Robert Kolendowicz. The circle of the Romanian Dan Petrescu has also been contacted. However, there are still no details,” Staszewski said on the X website.

Petrescu and his return to Krakow? The Romanian has led Wisła Kraków in the past, but this direction seems to be the least likely. Denial also appeared in the media in the context of Kolendowicz, the former coach of Pogoń Szczecin.

So has the time come for Michniewicz? The last time the former coach of the Polish national team (2022) worked in a Polish club was when he managed Legia Warszawa (2020-21). The question, however, is whether Michniewicz’s style of leading the team – rather pragmatic and without any special fireworks – will satisfy the demanding owner of Wieczysta.

Either way, if Michniewicz were to actually come back on the coaching carousel in Poland, it would be a big event.
