The government addressed the issue of CPK. Costs and schedule presented
During today’s meeting, the government discussed changes in the program for the construction of the Central Communication Port (CPK). The total cost of the program was estimated at PLN 131.7 billion.
During the last meeting this year, the government adopted a resolution amending the resolution on the establishment of a multi-annual program – “Central Communication Port Investment Program. Stage II. 2024–2030”, submitted by the Government Plenipotentiary for the Central Communication Port.
– The government updated the financial and time framework, as well as the conditions for implementing the plans regarding the Central Communication Port for 2024-2032 – it was announced in a message posted on the website of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister.
The resolution includes activities consisting in the continuation of preparatory and design works, as well as the commencement and completion of basic construction works related to the construction of the CPK. The Prime Minister’s Office explains that this also concerns key railway and road investments and projects directly related to the opening of the airport.
– The new schedule provides that by the end of 2032, the first stage of the CPK Airport and the High-Speed Railway (HSR) between Warsaw, CPK and Łódź will be launched. Construction works will also be advanced on the HSR sections to Wrocław and Poznań (under the “Poland in 100 minutes” program, access to these cities from Warsaw will ultimately take approximately 100 minutes). – stated in the announcement.
How much will CPK cost?
The government also updated the total cost of the CPK program until 2032. It was estimated at PLN 131.7 billion. – The investment in CPK will be made using funds from the State Treasury, EU money, as well as external funds (e.g. bank debt or bonds issued by CPK) – it was announced in the announcement.
The announcement also indicated, among others, that the launch of the CPK airport will be tantamount to the transfer of commercial traffic from Chopin Airport in Warsaw. In this way – as the Prime Minister’s office emphasizes – the profitability of the CPK will be ensured.
