The friendliest city in Europe. We will arrive from Poland by train

Wiedeń

Every tourist will feel welcome here. The “friendliest city” in Europe beat out Prague, Lisbon and Madrid.

The British travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler, with the help of its readers, selected the friendliest cities in Europe. The online plebiscite identified ten destinations which, thanks to the hospitality of the residents, urban greenery and excellent cuisine, will make everyone feel almost as good as at home. The list included, among others: Copenhagen, Oslo, Madrid and Prague. The capital of Austria won.

These cities are friendly and hospitable

Every year, Condé Nast Traveler prepares rankings in which it selects the best restaurants, hotels and attractions. Recently, the British magazine also published a list of the friendliest cities indicated by its readers who voted in an online plebiscite.

Prague was ranked 10th on the list. “It’s hard not to fall in love with its romantic atmosphere,” emphasize the authors of the article and remind us that the inhabitants of this city are always willing to have fun. A little higher than the Czech capital are Madrid, one of the sunniest capitals in Europe, and authentic Porto. There were also plenty of Nordic cities (Copenhagen and Oslo took joint high, sixth place). The top five included Lisbon, Reykjavik, San Sebastian, Florence and finally the winner of the ranking – Vienna.

Vienna was second to none

The capital of Austria is the perfect, condensed city for a city break. Thanks to numerous parks and boulevards by the river, as well as a wide range of museums, you can quickly feel not like a tourist ticking off only the most important attractions, but like a full-fledged resident. “But what really delights Vienna is its local customs. Just sit in one of the atmospheric cafes to enjoy the aroma of strong coffee and hear many interesting conversations. Moreover, in the capital of Austria you will find over a thousand parks,” wrote the authors of the plebiscite. When in Vienna, you must try the chocolate Sacher cake.

We can get from Poland to Vienna not only thanks to air connections, but also direct trains (including from Krakow and Katowice).
