The French giant is expanding in Poland. New jobs

Danone inwestuje w Polsce

Danone opened a new Planning Center in Katowice, creating 250 jobs and strengthening its position in Europe.

Katowice has become a key point on Danone’s European investment map. The French giant has opened a modern Planning Center in Silesia, which will serve as many as 26 of the company’s European factories. This is important news for the region, both economically and in the context of the labor market.

Katowice with a new Danone center

The Danone Planning Center has started operations in Katowice, which will play a key role in the supply chain of dairy, plant products and specialized food. The center will plan deliveries for products such as baby food and medical devices. The company’s authorities emphasize that the decision to locate this investment in Poland is a proof of recognition for the Polish market and its potential.

  • “The center will be responsible for planning the supply chain for Danone’s European factories,” we read in the company’s announcement.

250 new jobs

The opening of the center in Katowice created approximately 250 new jobs. The recruitment process is already underway, which is good news for the inhabitants of the region. Roman Pokorski, director of Danone Planning Center Katowice, noted the importance of this project:

  • “This is another distinction for Poland within the company’s global structures,” he said, emphasizing that the new investment strengthens the country’s position on the European business map.

Importance for the region

The decision to locate in Katowice is not accidental. The region has been attracting international investors for years, offering well-developed infrastructure and access to qualified staff. The opening of the center is also an opportunity for further development of Silesia, which has been struggling with the challenges resulting from economic transformation for years.

Although Danone’s investment brings positive news, the latest unemployment figures in Poland are less optimistic. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy announced that in November 2024 the unemployment rate increased to 5%, while in October it was 4.9%. The increase in unemployment particularly affected the flood-affected regions, where the number of unemployed people increased by 1.5%.
