The fish weighed little. That was enough, the angler set a new record

Luke Anderson caught an inconspicuous trout (Oncorhynchus lewisi). The fish swam in Saint Maries.

A resident of Moscow (Iowa County) went to this river at the beginning of June this year. He admitted that he did not expect to set a new record – he was rather looking forward to moments of relaxation with a fishing rod in his hand. However, it turned out differently.

How much did the fish measure and weigh?

The light specimen grabbed the hook. A new record was broken, here are the details

The distinctive-looking individual – from the Salmonidae family – was 33.5 centimeters (13.19 inches) long. Anderson also placed it on a certified scale, which showed… not much – only 0.43 kilograms (0.95 pounds), Wired2Fish reported.

According to the editorial team, the angler “officially set a new state record (…) in Idaho.”

He thus beat the achievement of his colleague, Spencer Smith. A Chubbuck (Bannock County) resident caught a trout weighing 0.56 pounds (0.25 kilograms) and 11 inches (28 centimeters) in mid-2024. The specimen was swimming in Alpine Creek Lake.

These records were broken a long time ago. And they still remain unbeaten
