The first such field of study in Poland. Cooperation of the University with commandos
The Silesian Medical University has opened the first post -graduate studies in Poland for a medics completed with an international certificate, which “opens the door around the world”.
TCCC, or Tactical Combat Casualty Care, and in Polish – Medicine of the Field of Medicine is a specialized field of medicine dealing with medical assistance in the conditions of war and other crisis situations. Its purpose is quick and effective intervention in the case of injuries and life threats, often in difficult conditions, where access to resources is limited and the reaction time is key.
The Silesian Medical University of Katowice, in cooperation with the military unit of commandos from Lubliniec, launches the first post -graduate studies in the Medicine of Field of Combat. This specialized direction was created for doctors, dentists, nurses and midwives, and for paramedics.
Medicine of the battlefield with an international certificate
Classes are conducted by practitioners with rescue, medical and military experience, and participants will obtain an international Tactical Certificate NAMT TCCC CMC, which is recognized all over the world and at the start gives a professional advantage.
Medics will learn, among others Actions as part of prolonged care, when the evacuation of victims can be impossible for many days. An example is Zakłady Azowstal in Ukraine, where during the Russian invasion in 2022 patients were treated in the underground.
Students will be prepared for activities carried out in distant conditions from hospital, where attention must even be drawn to whether the used equipment does not emit signals that can be detected by the enemy.
Medical staff prepared for action in the most difficult conditions
Classes will take place in a weekend mode twice a month at the university in Katowice, Zabrze and in military units.
The new field of study is scheduled for three semesters. The program provides 366 hours of classes, including 238 hours of practical classes. 24 places are available. Science begins in autumn, but there are no more free places, even though tuition fees costs a lot – 17,000 zloty.

Alicja Grzanka, dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Zabrze.
