The first SAFE agreements signed. Tusk talks about a “historical moment”
Poland signed the first agreements under the SAFE program. By the end of May, the value of the contracts may exceed PLN 100 billion.
The first contracts financed by the EU SAFE program, which is intended to support the development of Polish defense and arms industry, were signed in Legionowo near Warsaw. The contracts concern supplies for the Cyberspace Defense Forces, including modern cryptographic systems and a mobile cybersecurity laboratory. The agreements include the supply of a post-quantum IP encryptor from Enigma, a high-trust cryptographic system from Krypton Polska, a secure data exchange system from Filbico and a mobile cybersecurity laboratory prepared by Media.
Tusk on SAFE: This is an unprecedented moment
The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The head of government emphasized that Poland is currently the most advanced country in the EU in terms of preparing projects financed from SAFE.
– European money for SAFE is guaranteed. Poland is the most advanced both in terms of projects and the preparation of full documentation – said the Prime Minister.
Tusk also reminded that Poland can obtain approximately EUR 43.7 billion from the program, i.e. over PLN 180 billion. As he noted, the funds are to go not only to the army, but also to Polish enterprises.
Up to 59 contracts under SAFE only until the end of May
The Prime Minister announced that 40 contracts worth a total of PLN 100 billion are planned to be signed by May 30. Later, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz clarified that the number of contracts could increase up to 59.
According to the head of the Ministry of National Defense, over 10,000 people are expected to benefit from the SAFE program. Polish companies.
– SAFE is entering its final phase, Poland is safer today – said Kosiniak-Kamysz.
The SAFE program is to become one of the largest investment impulses for the Polish defense and new technologies sector.
