The first medal of the European championship for Poland! It was a great run

Pia Skrzyszowska

Pia Skrzyszowska won the first HME medal in Apeldoorn for the Polish national team. The athlete reached for the bronze medal.

Pia Skrzyszowska was one of the Polish favorites to win a medal during a party in the Dutch Apeldoorn. In 2024, a Polish woman won the bronze medal at 60 m through the fences during the World Indoor Championships. The competition was then played in Glasgow.

In the Friday final, Skrzyszowska was one of the favorites. The Polish woman in her substantial medal achievements, however, has not yet had a disc championship disc in an indoor edition. This changed in 2025. Skrzyszowska in the final reached for the bronze medal.

This is an important medal for the Polish athlete. A few weeks ago, Skrzyszowska was definitely far from the optimal disposition, looking at the results achieved. The medal won in Apeldoorn, improving the best result in the season, is a good stimulus in the perspective of subsequent challenges – with this nearest – world indoor championships. These start on March 21-23, China will be the hosts.

It is worth adding that in the HME 2025 final, the winner of Ditaji Cambundji (Switzerland) broke the European record (7.67), while the second Dutch at the finish Dutch Nadine Visser (7.72) broke the record of her country.
