In Świebodzin in the Lubuskie Voivodeship, the fire destroyed a private animal assistance center. The creators of “Asylum on Koziej” ask for help.

House at ul. Koziej 2A in Świebodzin burned on Monday, April 7 in the morning. Not only people lived there. As activists emphasize, the popular “Asylum on Koziej” was “above all a refuge for abandoned, old, sick and unwanted animals.”

It is already known that the upper part of the house with the roof burned down. “The fire destroyed everything. The roof, attic, equipment, all belongings. You can see the sky from the ground floor … The house is not suitable for living” – they emphasized “about 30 cats and a dozen dogs were in the middle – most of them are older animals, sick, after traumas. Cats were secured and are currently in a veterinary clinic” – they were informed.

“Dogs are in asylum and are safe – but we urgently need temporary houses for them. It is mostly difficult cases – anxiety dogs, after passing, requiring patience and heart,” it was calculated.

Financial losses are of course huge, which is why volunteers appealed for help. Even on Monday, the fire was organized and securing the remains of the building. “Take shovels, shovels and rakes,” it was emphasized in the press release.
“The most important task is to cover the burned roof, which is why men with experience in construction works, not working at height are particularly needed,” was added in the communiqué.

“Please also take construction equipment, preferably wireless – screwers, chargers, hand tools and everything that can support work. We also need strong and large bags” – activists that helps animals appealed.
“Asylum on Koziej” in Świebodzin has been operating for over 13 years. It is run by Mrs. Elwira together with a group of volunteers.
