The feminist lady: Zuckerberg feeds on our negative emotions

The corporate authorities want us to express our indignation, comment, react and share. This will always be based on our emotions. Zuckerberg feeds on our negative emotions – let’s no longer be convinced that you have to feed him. He already has enough on his account, we do not have to add to it, paying our time, attention, the catastrophic state of the debate, sometimes with mental health – says “Wprost” Martyna F. Zachorska, Americanist, philolor, author of the book “Female tip of the language”, On Instagram, known as a feminist lady.
Marta Byczkowska-Nowak: META has announced new guidelines in the USA, and Facebook users around the world question the truth of this information. Permission to call a woman “household appliances” seems so unlikely that we classify it as fake news.
Martyna F. Zachorska: The difficulty of reaching these guidelines is that when in Poland we are looking at American pages, reading what happened in the finish line, click on hyperlinks that redirect us to the Polish version, definitely more progressive than the new American one – at least on paper . It is true, in new guidelines, which for now only in the United States, as a pilot program, read, for example, that you can call a woman home equipment, or that it will no longer be forbidden to call LGBT+ mentally ill people. Does this really change something? Many people evaluate these guidelines as a confirmation of status quo. Cickness broken on social polarization is nothing new.
Even if Mark Zuckerberg did not theoretically allow this type of practice earlier, they still took place, and on a large scale.
Are you talking about imperfect, to put it mildly, Facebook moderation?
Of course, these types of texts in social media space have always been rained and will rain still, regardless of official messages about what is allowed and what is not allowed for users. The fact that Zuckerberg has allowed the use of hate speech towards women and sexual minorities or, as some want, “abolished censorship”, it does not mean that so far it has not been in social media space. Applications of hateful content, such as vulgar insults, threats, wishes of rape or death, remained unanswered, often after many months the answer came: “This content is not incompatible with the principles of our community.”
That is why many people say that now the masks have just dropped.
Let’s try to defend these guidelines, following the trail of Zuckerberg: Since moderation was so imperfect, it must be changed, replacing Fact Checking so -called social notes and providing users with greater freedom of speech.
All this looks nice on paper: none of us wants censorship, we do not want to live in an authoritarian country, in a society that imposes on us what to think and what opinions we have the right to express. However, in today’s policy and social media, such declarations are often “dog whistles”, which to generally sound neutral or even positive, but underneath is encoded information for the so -called initiated. This message is: the extreme right will be able to offend others without any obstacles: minorities, women. Is this different from the current practice? In Poland, two years ago, the founding meeting of the Patriarchy Foundation, an organization in the spirit of a very radical branch of Red Pill.
The men associated there say directly that women are part of a man’s belongings and proclaim this content on social media. It was not banned.
