Jakub Kamiński opened the scoring in the match between Poland and the Netherlands at PGE Narodowy. The Poles had a very solid first 45 minutes. The fans have the right to be happy.
There is no doubt that although the Poles secured their place in the play-offs – due to Finland’s defeat against Malta (0:1) – the stakes of the match at the PGE National Stadium were still high.
The two best teams in group G met, and in the first meeting in Rotterdam, the Poles upset the Dutch a bit, ultimately drawing 1-1. Although few people expected such a scenario before the meeting.

Coach Jan Urban’s team went to the match against the Netherlands without any complexes. From the first minutes, the Poles tried to create something, additionally adequately defending access to their goal. This one was guarded by Kamil Grabara, who didn’t have much work to do in the first half. As it turned out, he had to take the ball out of the net vis-a-vis. And this was decided by the situation in the 43rd minute.
The goal was scored by Jakub Kamiński. A man who has stood out on the pitch of the German Bundesliga since the beginning of the season. It must be admitted, however, that Robert Lewandowski played a significant role in the goal. The captain of the Polish national team served his teammate perfectly, thanks to which the fans in the stands of the stadium in Warsaw could start a great celebration after the 1-0 goal.
The Netherlands certainly didn’t play as expected. The guests are surprised again by what coach Urban’s team presents. Just like it was in the first meeting. This time, however, it was the Poles who took the lead, which is important from a mental point of view.
What’s more, the Polish national team plays solid, organized football. Which is certainly encouraging in terms of further challenges, including next year’s play-offs for a place at the 2026 World Cup. However, there is still a lot left until then. Now, however, it is worth appreciating the skill shown by the team in the first 45 minutes.
