Thailand intends to implement another plan to attract tourists to their country. As part of the “Buy international flights, get free domestic flights” campaign, there are 200,000 airline tickets for foreign guests. The program will last from September to November, and the six most important Thai carriers will take part in the action – Thai Airways, Thai Airasia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet. Earlier, Japan and Hong Kong also introduced a similar way to promotion.

Foreigners who will come to Thailand between September and November will have the chance to receive an additional national ticket for a return flight along with 20-kilo baggage from one of six leading carriers-Thai Airways, Thai Airasia, Bangkok Airways, Nok Air, Thai Lion Air and Thai Vietjet.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sport has prepared as many as 200,000 places for people who will book international flights directly at the airlines or via online travel agencies. “A government subsidy for each tourist is 1750 lashes for a one -way ticket or 3500 lashes for a return ticket,” writes Bangkok Post. The expenditure estimated at 700 million lashes can bring profits for tourism in the amount of up to 8.8 billion lashes.

Although it may seem that a country like Thailand cannot complain about the lack of tourists, in fact the situation does not look so good. Until August 17, Thailand was visited by 20.8 million foreign guests, which is a decrease of 7 percent compared to the previous year. The new campaign is to interest tourists visiting Thailand also outside the high season.
The Thailand government wants to attract, among others A larger number of inhabitants of Australia and New Zealand, as well as Scandinavians. Soon, a Polish flight may start flying directly to Bangkok, which will open this market to tourists from Central and Eastern Europe.
