The European country is fighting flight delays. Poles will feel it during the holidays

Holiday flights to Greece can cause passengers to many problems. This year, however, the cause of difficulties will not be only increased traffic caused by holidays. For delays that will master the airports throughout the country this summer, is primarily responsible for the crisis in the Middle East, which resulted in mass redirections of the route to Southeast Europe.

Travelers who chose Greece this summer for the purpose of holidays must be patient. According to the Greek media, only a week from 16 to 22 June fourteen percent of all delays in Europe were associated with flights to this country. “The overloaded air traffic management system in Greece was additionally burdened due to restrictions caused by the escalation of voltage in the Middle East and the resulting change of flight routes by the Greek airspace,” reads. The problem occurs primarily at the airport in Athens, which connects the capital of continental Greece with holiday islands.

It is even worse in this country

It cannot be hidden that despite the crisis, Greece is in a better situation than another large European country. At this point, the most delays on the continent, as much as forty percent, concerns France. Here, however, the main reason is not holidays or tensions in the Middle East, but staff shortages and air controllers strikes. Spain is not the best, which is responsible for as many as twelve percent of flight delays in Europe.

It is worth remembering that in the case of delays resulting from reasons beyond the beyond the airline, passengers should not be compensated. Changes are to be introduced soon, which will complicate the efforts for compensation for too long. The minimum delay time required to submit the application is to be increased from three to four hours.
