The driver left the glass ajar in the car. He did not expect a mandate
One of the drivers who parked their car in Vincenza in northeastern Italy. He received a mandate for a seemingly harmless thing. He was punished because he did not closes the windshield in the vehicle.
Italian media widely describe the case in Vincenza, where the driver left the windows ajar in his vehicle. As the services emphasized, the car was parked near the Sanctuary of Monte Berico, and the windows remained abandoned at about 10 cm. For this offense, the owner received a fine of 42 euros (about 180 PLN).
Italy. A ticket for the abandoned glass
Policemen justified this penalty “by inciting theft”. In Italy, proper vehicle protection is treated differently than, for example, in our country. Art. 158 para. 4 Italian Road Code says that the driver is required to take all precautions to prevent theft, accidents or unauthorized use of the vehicle.
The man from Vincenza Italian officers treated gently anyway. The fine for insufficient protection of the car can be from 42 to 173 euros. Perhaps the penalty would be higher if, for example, the driver left the keys in the ignition.
Drivers in Italy should be careful. The regulations are restrictive
Tourist outrage for nothing. Italian policemen are of the opinion that the driver should predict various situations, also the risk of theft or accidentally starting his car by third parties.
An example of a further restrictive approach is the same case of Vincene. Drivers were also noticed due to parking the car on the slope and partly in the lane. The police stated that in the event of accidental release of the handbrake, the vehicle could stand, creating a threat to pedestrians.
