He suggests that dogs begin to bite the grass not only when they feel bad.

It is worth observing if it is repeated too often and what symptoms appear after consumption.
Vets emphasize that dogs for vomiting provoke physical irritation of the gastric mucosa by long and rough blades of grass. They emphasized that the dogs did not do it to the end intentionally. With an experiment with causing mild intestinal disorders, it was not noticed that they eat the grass more often. The quadrupeds did not cause vomiting in this state.
Scientists have found that vomiting on the grass can be an ordinary case, a coincidence. In dogs with stomach problems, vomiting will sometimes occur regardless of what they ate. The grass is sometimes simply the last thing that bite before the vomiting reflex, but they will not cause it at all.
The veterinarians noted to listen to borborygm dogs, i.e. pouring, bubbling and gingening in the stomach. Healthy individuals will rarely make such sounds. However, if such sounds are accompanied by vomiting, diarrhea, lack of appetite and apathy, then we should be worried. This may indicate stomachitis, intestines, pancreas or parasitic diseases.
The mentioned lack of appetite is always a sign of concern. When the dog starts eating the grass, you should additionally increase vigilance. Sometimes it is only a stomach filling or killing boredom. However, this may indicate a bad diet. Researchers described the case of a poodle, which eaten only the grass for months, and stopped after the introduction of a high -bodied diet.
What to do when the dog eats the grass?
So if our dog will judge grass from time to time, this is not a reason for concern. However, when he does it often and in polluted places, we should react. Take care of a well -balanced diet and with the right amount of fiber. You can increase the physical and mental activity of our quadruped so that it does not eat boredom.
It is important to train your pet and teach him “leave” commands. He will not nibble grass in places contaminated with fertilizers, rubbish or excrement of other animals. When a dog has to bite and chew, you can offer him substitutes from pet stores. As a last resort, you can always go to the vet to assess the situation with an expert eye.
