Removal of asbestos from Polish buildings by 2032 may prove unreal. There are over 8 million tons of this carcinogenic substance throughout the country.

The removal of all asbestos products in Poland until the end of 2032 is the purpose specified in the Regulation of the Minister of Economy of 2003. However, according to experts, the pace of work is too slow, and many building owners cannot afford the replacement of roofing. “If the pace of work is not accelerated, and building owners do not receive financial support for new roofing, it will be hard to comply with the findings of legislators,” says a representative of Euroutil in an interview with Wirtualna Polska, dealing with asbestos utilization.

8 million tons of asbestos on roofs and facades

Persons with asbestos can check the availability of subsidies for its removal in local government units and at the National Agricultural Support Center.

According to the asbestos base, the largest amounts of inventory -containing asbestos products are located in the Mazowieckie (1.67 million tons), Lublin (1.26 million tons) and Greater Poland (875,000 tonnes).
