This year, the first payments of 14 pensions will take place just after the holidays. However, there are seniors who will not qualify for this benefit.

At the end of June, a draft regulation on determining the month of payment of the next additional annual cash benefit for retirees and disability pensioners in 2026 was added to the list of legislative and program works of the Council of Ministers. This is the 14th retirement.

14th retirement. When are the payouts?

As in recent years, the “fourteenth benefit” will go to seniors in September, along with the standard benefit. Payments will be made on: September 1, 6, 10, 15, 20 and 25. This means that some people will receive the money right after the holidays.

This year, the initial amount of the 14th pension will be PLN 1,978.49 gross. We write “initial” because the benefit in this amount is available to seniors whose pension does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. In other cases, the “PLN for PLN” mechanism is used. However, ZUS does not award the “fourteenth pension” if it turns out to be lower than PLN 50.

In practice, this means that if a senior receives a pension of PLN 3,000 gross, he or she will receive a pension of PLN 1,878.49 gross. In the case of PLN 4,000 gross, it will only be PLN 878.49 gross. However, people with a pension exceeding approximately PLN 4,828.49 gross will not be eligible for the benefit. Those who will have their pension payments suspended as of August 31, e.g. due to exceeding the earning limits, will also not receive the money.

In 2025, less than 6.5 million people received the 14th pension. According to ZUS, a total of PLN 7.6 billion net went to eligible persons.

A SW Research survey for “Wprost” conducted earlier this year shows that nearly two-thirds of Poles (65.3%) are opposed to the abolition of the 13th and 14th pensions. Only 18.7% support it. respondents, and 16 percent respondents have no opinion on this matter.
