The culinary offer of our country is even more appreciated

Polskie restauracje w przewodniku Michelin

Pursuant to a contract signed by the Polish Tourist Organization with the world -famous Michelin guide, 108 Polish restaurants from five Polish regions: Mazovia, Greater Poland, Lesser Poland, Pomerania and Lower Silesia were in this prestigious publication. This is excellent proof of an extremely high level of the Polish culinary offer and creates new great opportunities for the promotion of our country.

Tourism is an extremely dynamic industry, sensitive to new technological and communication solutions and subject to constant transformation. That is why the Polish tourist organization makes every effort to enter into the latest trends of the global tourist market.

The aftermath of these activities is the signing of a cooperation agreement with Michelin Guide in 2023. This is a great opportunity to promote Polish tourism in terms of wonderful culinary traditions. This field is one of the fastest growing trends in tourism, which is probably also the result of the growing popularity of urban and cultural tourism.

“From year to year, we are observing more and more interest in foreign guests with the Polish tourist offer. It is worth emphasizing that our country is currently in the top twenty of the most attractive tourist countries in the world. This is influenced by many factors, however, one of the most important is probably the high level of culinary offer. Thanks to the cooperation of the Polish tourist organization with Michelin guided, the magnificent Polish cities and regions have a chance for even better promotion among tourists around the world”said Rafał Szmytke, president of the Polish Tourist Organization

The Michelin guide has been published since 1900. An edition dedicated to Poland has never been created in his history. This was initiated by the Polish Tourist Organization, which, by signing a contract with Michelin Guide, opened Polish restaurateurs to apply for a Michelin star – fulfilling the dreams of many chefs. Thanks to these activities, in June 2023, the first selection of Michelin in the history of Poland was dedicated to regions from our country: Mazovia with the capital in Warsaw, Lesser Poland with the capital in Krakow and Greater Poland with the capital in Poznań. Then Pomerania with the Tri -City and Lower Silesia with Wrocław were included in the guide. On June 10, 2025, the latest selection results were published, on the basis of which 108 Polish restaurants were already awarded by Michelin Guide inspectors.

The cooperation of the Polish Tourist Organization with the Michelin guide brings a number of benefits for the promotion of our country. The development of infrastructure and transport, promotion of regional culinary traditions and the local food market, attracting investors in the hotel and catering industry or an increase in the quality of services rendered are just some of them. In this regard, confirmation of the tourist prestige of Polish cities around the world and an increase in interest in foreign guests are also invaluable. The statistics are noticeable to increase the number of tourists visiting cities covered by selection, and the number of guests visiting the recommended restaurants increased by an average of 30%.

I am very happy that the Polish culinary offer is so appreciated among foreign tourists, because it creates great opportunities for the promotion of our country. The Michelin guide has been appearing on the market since 1900 and is considered the most important publication of this kind in the world. The presence of Polish restaurants in it is confirmed by an excellent quality of services and an original offer of flavors at the highest world level– added the president of Pot.

The presence of Polish facilities in the guide also has a significant impact on the development of the national meeting industry, because in the case of some congresses, having Michelin restaurants is an organizational requirement of the event. Therefore, participation in the competition also definitely affects the positioning of Poland in relation to the Convention market.

The promotion of Poland, as a culinary destination, certainly resulted in a change in the perception of our country by foreign tourists. Michelin Guide is a global, recognizable and prestigious brand guaranteeing the quality of restaurants included on the Michelin trail. It is a magnet attracting foods from around the world. “Star” Michelin Guide has an impact on planning stay by foreign guests.
