Rua do Bonjardim w Porto

It’s the perfect place for a walk and shopping. A European street was ranked third in the ranking of the coolest streets in the world.

Every year, Time Out magazine shows tourists which streets in the world are worth visiting. Thirty-one unique locations were selected during this year’s edition of “The coolest streets in the world” ranking. The highest place among proposals from Europe was taken by a street located in Portugal. Germany and Greece also made it to the top ten, followed by Belgium and France.

Winner from Rio de Janeiro

In this year’s Time Out ranking “The coolest streets in the world”, the first place was awarded to Rua do Senado street in Rio de Janeiro. It is here, next to historic tenement houses, that new, lively bars are being built, and Saturday samba sessions are organized in the squares. “Once known for its antique shops and bohemian atmosphere, today Rua do Senado in the center of Rio is experiencing a stylish renaissance,” write the authors of the article.

Second place went to Orange Street in Osaka, while last year’s winner, High Street in Melbourne, dropped out of the rankings. However, in 29th place was another street from this city – Swan.

This street in Portugal is a must-visit

Bonjardim Street has everything it takes to become the next trendy place in Porto. It was ranked third in the ranking, so it is the highest-ranked proposal from Europe. The top fifteen also included Maybachufer in Berlin (7th place), Olympou Street in Thessaloniki (8th place), Rue de Flandre in Brussels (11th place) and Rue des Gravilliers in Paris (13th place).

Rua do Bonjardim is close to the main attractions in the center, such as Bolhão Market and Avenida dos Aliados. This is a part of the city popular with both tourists and Porto residents, and despite the great interest, there is no chaos here. On this colorful, kilometer-long street, walkers will find traditional grocery stores and the best restaurants.
