The controversial benefit will soon increase. It will gain 3 thousand Poles
The beginning of March is not only an increase in pensions, but also such benefits as alcohol pensions. About 3,000 downloads them Poles.
Alcohol pension is granted to people who, suffering as a result of alcoholism, are not able to take up paid work. It is worth emphasizing that alcoholism itself does not entitle you to apply for a benefit. Only people who suffer from alcohol abuse, such as cirrhosis, Ortella syndrome or pancreatitis can try to get to be made.
To apply for an alcohol pension, several conditions must be met. You must have a certificate of partial or total incapacity for work, achieve the required contribution and non -contributory period, which depends on the age at which incapacity for work arose, and also show that the inability to work was created during contribution or non -contributory periods specified in the regulations.
Alcohol pension from March 1 will increase
Currently, an alcohol pension is PLN 1780.96 gross. The benefit – like a pension – is subject to annual valorisation. As you know, valorisation will be 5.5 percent this year, which means that from March the pension will be PLN 1878.91 gross for people completely incapable of work and PLN 1409.18 for people partly incapable of work.
Alcohol pension is considered one of the most controversial benefits in Poland. In the summer of last year, a great publicity caused the position of farmers associated in the Greater Poland Chamber of Agriculture. Farmers did not hide their indignation, due to the fact that the alcohol pension is as much as the lowest agricultural pension after at least a 25-year period of hard work.
– It is amazing that the lowest agricultural pension after at least a 25-year period of hard work on the farm and paying contributions for agricultural pension insurance from March 1, 2024 is the same, i.e. 1 thousand. PLN 780.96! The agricultural environment is very appalled – wrote the Wielkopolska Chamber of Agriculture.
According to farmers, this is an unfair and “highly demoralizing” situation for society. The organization appealed to decision -makers to rethink this matter, indicating that the lack of recognition for the hard work of farmers may result in decreasing interest in work in this sector.
In 2023, PLN 56 million was allocated for the payment of an alcohol pension, a year earlier it was PLN 53.1 million. It is estimated that the benefit is charged by approx. 3,000 people.
