The construction of an important route in Poland has started. Big changes for drivers

S10 Toruń Zach. – Toruń Płd. (2022)

The construction of the key section of the S10 expressway connecting Bydgoszcz and Toruń has started. Work is gaining momentum, and drivers can count on more comfortable travels.

Work on one of the most important road projects in northern Poland – the S10 express route – is gaining momentum. On the section Bydgoszcz Południe – Bydgoszcz Industrial Park, intensive construction works began. The project, covering a total of 50 kilometers, is to facilitate fast and comfortable travel between two capitals of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeships-Toruń and Bydgoszcz.

On the first section of the route, 9 kilometers, the first effects of work are already visible. After handing over the construction site in November 2024, the contractor, Intercor, began cutting down trees, removing carp and sapper recognition. Surveyers also operate on site, and preparatory work is underway on the parallel national road No. 25, such as the demolition of buildings on the route of the planned road.

New safety solutions

Road workers also took care of improving safety on the parallel DK10 route. In Przyłubie, traffic organization has been changed, and the key points are planned to install additional warning boards, such as “STOP – bad direction”.

Construction schedule and investment costs

The construction of the entire S10 express route, the cost of which will be over PLN 1.4 billion, will cover five new road junctions, the expansion of three existing ones, as well as the construction of numerous animal crossings, travelers’ service places and road maintenance circuit. Road workers are waiting for permits for the implementation of other sections, including Bydgoszcz Przemysłowy Park – Solec Kujawski and Solec Kujawski – Toruń Zachód.

The first fragments of the route are planned to be commissioned in 2026, and the whole road is to be completed by the end of 2027. The introduced amenities will significantly improve travel between Bydgoszcz and Toruń, becoming an important communication element in the region.
