An unusual situation occurred on the Express InterCity “Wysocki” train. An investigation was initiated into the case of one of the conductors.

On the Express InterCity “Wysocki” train, which runs on the Bielsko-Biała – Gdynia route on weekends, an unusual situation occurred while checking tickets. According to information obtained by journalists from the website trojmiasto.wyborcza.pl, when the conductor approached the family from Ukraine, it turned out that the school-age boy did not have his ID card, which entitled him to a discount.

The conductor didn’t give the full change. PKP initiated explanatory proceedings

The father asked what should be done in such a situation. – You must buy a new ticket for your son (PLN 38.59) and pay a fine of PLN 150 – said the conductor, and then asked whether the payment would be made by card or cash. The man gave the woman PLN 200. The conductor then stated that she only had PLN 7 in change (she should have spent PLN 11.41). – I don’t have any more. I will not give you the rest of my private money. The passenger is obliged to have the deducted amount with him, she emphasized and left. – But it doesn’t work like that… – the man started to say, but the conductor was already with another passenger and continued checking tickets. She also said that the child’s parents could file a complaint.

PKP Intercity implemented explanatory proceedings against the conductor. – Pursuant to the regulations of transport on PKP Intercity trains, the passenger can pay for the issued transport document to the conductor on the train in cash or by payment card – Maciej Dutkiewicz from PKP Intercity informed the website trojmiasto.wyborcza.pl.

– The regulations state that if a passenger reports the lack of a valid transport document or the intention to change travel conditions and wants to pay, but the conductor cannot give change or complete a card transaction, we will issue a payment request without an additional fee. They must be paid within 3 days of the date of travel. This also applies to the case when a passenger travels without a valid transport document – added Dutkiewicz. In this particular case, the parents did not inform the conductor in advance that their child did not have an ID card entitling him to a discount.
