The Chinese want to conquer the Polish market. A new competitor enters the game

Chińskie samochody Chery

The Chinese automotive giant Chery is officially entering the Polish market, offering popular SUV models and challenging the current leader MG.

The Chinese brand Chery, the largest exporter of passenger cars from China, has officially announced its debut in Poland. This is the first European Union country to have an official importer of Chery International. Poland will become the gateway to the European market for the Chinese giant, which has in its portfolio the popular Tiggo series SUV models.

One of the first models to hit Polish showrooms will be Tiggo 7a compact C-segment SUV. The car is very popular in China, winning the title of best-selling C-segment SUV for three years in a row. Tiggo 7 will be equipped with modern technologies such as:

  • 24.6-inch panel with two curved screens,

  • panoramic roof with an area of 1.1 m²,

  • SONY sound system with 8 speakers,

  • HUD display and advanced ADAS safety systems.

Initially, the Tiggo 7 will be available with a 1.6-liter petrol engine, and later hybrids and plug-in versions will join the offer.

Chinese SUVs versus the competition

Chery Tiggo 7 will compete on the Polish market with models such as MG HS, Kia Sportage and Hyundai Tucson. Unlike the MG HS, the Tiggo 7 offers 4×4 drive, which may attract customers looking for more versatile vehicles.

The top Tiggo 9 model, a D-segment SUV, will appear in Poland before the end of 2025. The car will offer luxurious equipment, including a 15.6-inch touchscreen, a Sony audio system with 14 speakers and front seats with a massage function.

Local production on the horizon

Chery can also stand out from the competition thanks to local production. The Chinese company has established cooperation with partners in Spain and Italy, and the EBRO S700 model, based on Tiggo 7, is already being manufactured in Spanish factories. It is therefore possible that the Chery sold in Poland will be produced in Europe.

Chery’s debut on the Polish market coincides with the growing popularity of MG models, which offer competitive prices and a 7-year warranty. Chery intends to follow the same path, enriching the offer for Polish customers and building its position in the SUV segment.
