The best swimming area in Poland is back. It is Blue Flag certified
The season on the Baltic Sea begins. In June, beachgoers will be able to use one of the best swimming areas in Poland.
Świnoujście will be back on the swimming map of Poland in a few days. After the holiday season has officially started in Sopot, the famous resort on the island of Usedom will also make its guarded beaches available to tourists. The Blue Flag status will certainly be an additional magnet. This is the twenty-first time that the Świnoujście Sea Swimming Pool will receive such an award, and the Świnoujście Przytór Swimming Pool – only for the second time.
The weather is disappointing, but the season in Świnoujście must start
Mid-June in Świnoujście did not provide tourists with the best conditions for sunbathing. According to forecasts, the weather is expected to improve in just a few days – thermometers on the coast will even exceed 25 degrees Celsius. This will coincide with the official start of the swimming season. As the portal eswinoujscie.pl writes, the season inauguration ceremony will take place on June 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., right at the entrance to beach no. 12. During it, the Blue Flag will be officially raised. This international distinction is awarded only to the cleanest and safest beaches in the world.
There are a total of over thirty beaches in Poland awarded the Blue Flag. We can find them both in large cities (e.g. Gdańsk and Kołobrzeg) and in smaller seaside towns. The Foundation for Environmental Education (FDEE) is responsible for presenting the award and checking the cleanliness of the swimming areas.
The longest and widest beach in Poland
The beach in Świnoujście is not only an ideal place for a sea swim, but also for a walk – a really long walk. The golden sand stretches for twelve kilometers, and in some places the beach is up to 200 meters wide. Additionally, Świnoujście is considered one of the warmest resorts in Poland.
