Bank Millennium warns customers against fraudsters. An urgent message appeared in the application – it is about attempts to extort and impersonate the bank.

Bank Millennium has made an urgent message to its clients, warning against increasing fraud attempts. A new notification has appeared in the bank’s mobile application, which aims to increase the vigilance of users. According to the warning, unknown people contact by phone, impersonating the bank’s employees and try to extort personal data, passwords or get to install malware.

Disturbing signals

As the bank indicates, a disturbing signal may also be urging to pay cash from a specific ATM or facility. In such cases, special caution should be exercised, even if the interlocutor is preference for an employee of a financial institution.

To prevent similar situations, Bank Millennium introduced additional security. Now, if the customer receives a phone call from a bank representative, he will also receive a notification in the mobile application. Thanks to this, he can confirm whether the caller is actually an employee of the bank, without having to provide any confidential data.

Safety rules

The announcement also reminded the basic safety rules that should be observed during contact with a bank employee. The bank emphasizes that:

  • Contact notifications appear only in the bank’s official application,

  • Employees never ask for additional software or send links to the outer sides,

  • do not demand disclosure of passwords, data card data or BLIK codes,

  • They do not issue commands regarding cash withdrawals or transfers to unknown accounts.

The bank calls for prudence and reminds that maintaining vigilance is the basis of financial security. Each suspicious action should be reported immediately to avoid potential losses.
