The annotations in the passport thwarted the tourist’s plan. He will remember his visit to Poland for a long time

Paszport 54-letniej Amerykanki

The 54-year-old American will remember the situation that occurred at the airport in Poland for a long time. A statement on the matter was issued by the Carpathian Border Guard Unit.

On Wednesday, January 8, the Carpathian Border Guard Department published a communiqué describing a rather unusual event. “Today, just after midnight, after the arrival of a scheduled flight from London, a 54-year-old American woman showed up at the passport control. The officers of the Border Guard Post in Kraków-Balice fell into quite a stupor during passport control,” we read.

The 54-year-old from the USA will remember this trip for a long time. “Interviewed as a witness”

As it turned out, on nine pages in the American woman’s passport, under the border control stamps of various countries, there were annotations made in pen – the names of countries and the towns where individual airports were located. This behavior resulted in the passport becoming a useless document and did not entitle the woman to enter Poland.

The 54-year-old is already suffering the consequences of her actions. “The US citizen was questioned as a witness, she was not aware that making entries in her document was a crime. The foreigner was refused entry to the territory of the Republic of Poland by issuing an appropriate decision,” we read in the statement. The Carpathian Border Guard also informed that the American would return tomorrow on a return flight to London, and until her departure she would stay in the service premises of the Border Guard Post in Kraków-Balice.

A short appeal to travelers. It’s about the date and condition of the documents

At the end of the message, the Carpathian Border Guard Branch issued a short appeal to travelers. The idea is that tourists should make sure that they have all the necessary documents when planning their trips. As the story of a 54-year-old American woman shows, you should check not only their expiration date, but also their condition.
