The man sent an e-mail to the editorial office of the monthly “Wiadomości Wędkarskie”, in which he described his amazing feat in detail.

He caught a huge Salmo trutta, the length of which is impressive.

These were emotional moments. The fisherman “threw an obscene bunch”

The enthusiast achieved his success at the beginning of August by fishing on the Skawa (a river in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship). Within an hour, a trout (Salmonidae) 47 centimeters long tried to nymph, but it was only a prelude to the real giant.

After changing position and making the shot, Kachel “felt the weight on the stick.” “The fish was pushing unstoppably down the river and, despite my best efforts, it swam into a submerged tree and grabbed the fly,” the man describes. As he admits, his nerves gave way and he “threw an obscene bunch” because unfortunately the fish won the fight.

The enthusiast went to Skawa with his uncle. After a short time, the second man took a 42 cm long trout out of the water. Then, for a long time, the anglers had no contact with the fish, which simply stopped being interested in their baits. “As if that wasn’t enough, I lost the entire set on the hitch. I had to tie it again and decided to use a streamer instead of a nymph. I moved a few hundred meters upstream and stopped at a place where there was a boulder in the current, behind which a braid was forming. A typical trout spot. In one of the next casts, I led the bait down the river and wrapped it behind a stone, escaping towards the surface,” the man writes in an e-mail published by “WW”.

The enthusiast “felt euphoria”. The giant brown trout measured over 80 cm

Then a situation occurred that both men were very much counting on. “Boom! Powerful hit! I clenched reflexively and once again that day I felt a huge, throbbing weight. As long as it doesn’t break off! However, the trout fought calmly, I only felt single head hits with long pauses. Suddenly the fish was under my feet. When I saw its powerful, massive body, I shouted to my uncle: “It’s the fish, it’s him!” I was sure that I had the same trout on my rod that my dear friend caught in April this year,” says the angler.

In his opinion, the fish had managed to grow a bit within a few months. In April she was 79 cm, so how tall was she now? Before the enthusiast found out, he had to face a huge struggle with the specimen. However, he admits that all this time “his legs were like jelly” and his “heart was beating like crazy.” Salmo trutta “tried several times to get into the bushes, fortunately he had quite strong equipment”, so he “managed to stop the fish’s attacks and move the fight to calmer water”. “I went down the river with the fish for two hundred meters until I found a place where the shallower water gave a chance to catch a trout” – which, however, was still not easy. “The trout kept moving sideways and moving away from under us again and again. However, after several attempts, I managed to say: “I have it, it’s mine!” I felt euphoria and incredible happiness,” the man notes.

How tall was the giant? Bagatelle 81 cm. Its freedom was returned, so it is possible that in the future, when it gains additional centimeters, another angler will come across it in Sakwa. “WW” rewarded the enthusiast. As the monthly magazine emphasizes, the size of the fish is larger than the standard for a gold medal, and, taking into account the Polish record, it is of the appropriate length.

A few days ago we informed about a giant crucian carp caught by a resident of Greater Poland. Carassius carassius, caught by Tomasz Dylewicz, weighed as much as 4.76 kilograms and was 61 cm long.

At the end of September, the man went to Lake Trzaskowo. He will remember this day forever. The beginning of the competition was very intense – in the afternoon, the enthusiast had nine Carassius specimens on the mat.
