Tadeusz Lid on the plans of the Ministry of the Climate: State will not be better

The provisions of the already applicable laws should be clarified, and not to create these new ones from scratch – writes Tadeusz Pokrywka, president of the National Chamber of Commerce for the Food Industry and Packaging
The extended responsibility of the manufacturer, i.e. not only the quality of products, but also to ensure the management of packaging waste, is not new in Poland. We have been fulfilling this obligation since 2002 – with less or more popular.
The provisions of the already applicable laws should be clarified, and not to create these new ones from scratch. Looking at the proposals of the Ministry of Climate and the Environment, we are primarily against the nationalization of packaging waste management. These are the worst possible solutions. The prime minister and deputy prime minister of the current government speak of the participation of private entrepreneurs in such sensitive sectors of the economy as reinforcement or the production of ammunition, and it turns out that “garbage management” in Poland must be state -owned, otherwise we can’t do it. For me it is a denial of the idea of entrepreneurship. State will never be better.
