Rematch match of 1/8 final in the Champions League, in which Madrid derby, Atletico – Real, referee Szymon Marciniak. There was controversy.
As it happens when playing the ball with a hand in the penalty area, the interpretation point usually depends on … the page that the person is supporting the person, commenting on the decision made by the arbitrator. After Szymon Marciniak did not decide to dictate the penalty kick for Real Madrid, of course, it boiled strongly, especially on the side of royal fans.
Champions League: Controversy around Szymon Marciniak’s decision!
In the first match in Real, the Królewscy won 2: 1. In the rematch meeting it began with the rapid hit of Atletico and in a two -legged one, it got 2: 2. The goal for the rematch hosts was scored by the Englishman Conor Gallagher.
Controversy with the participation of a Polish judge took place in the 33rd minute of the meeting. Marciniak, although the ball in the penalty area hit the hand of the Atletico player – Giuliano Simeone – did not decide to point to “lime”. Vinicius Junior, a real star who directed the football on the opponent’s hand, was especially angry.
However, it seems that the Pole made the right decision, because the distance was very close, and in addition the arrangement of the hand was natural, behind the back, according to the dynamics of the Atletico footballer’s movement. Social media, however, outdo each other in the interpretations of the event.
Jakub Mode with Golem, Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczęsny continue to play
In Tuesday’s matches, the 1/8 finals, promoted to the best eight, secured herself, among others FC Barcelona. The Catalans in a rematch played 3: 1 Benfica, and taking into account the victory in the match in Lisbon (1: 0), they were promoted to the quarter -finals very confidently. Borussia Dortmund will be the rival of Robert Lewandowski and Wojciech Szczęsny (both played on Tuesday). So it promises to be a sentimental return of “Lewy” to the club, from which he sailed to even wider European waters, i.e. to Bayern Munich – the German Bundesliga tycoon – and later to Barcelona.
The goal, but without the final promotion, was scored by Jakub Mode. The midfielder passed the moving from the Premier League to Eredivisie in the winter. As it turned out, the selection of Feyenoord Rotterdam for a Pole turned out to be the right thing because Moder had the opportunity to play in two rounds of the Champions League play-off. At the first attempt, the Dutch team sensationally celebrated AC Milan. Another challenge, again with Serie A, moreover – again from Milan – i.e. Inter, turned out to be too difficult to jump.
At the consolation, Moder scored an honorary goal in the rematch of Feyenoord with Interrem in Milan. The Dutch team, however, lost 1: 2 (first match 2: 0 for Inter, therefore 4: 1). Piotr Zieliński did not appear in the colors of Inter, who got a calf injury in the weekend league match on the Apennine Peninsula.
