Sudden attack on PayU. Urgent message for customers

PayU reports a hacker attack. The online payment system, also popular in Poland, may not work properly.

On Thursday, April 2, European customers using PayU services may have experienced unpleasant technical problems. The online payment system that usually allows for quick and secure online purchases did not work properly that day.

PayU failure. The company informs about a DDoS attack

The company confirmed the issue in a statement. “On April 2, 2026, from 11:07 a.m., we are dealing with a large Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the PayU infrastructure,” it was reported.

Later in the message, the company listed several situations that users can expect:

  • customers may not be able to use payment methods (provided by PayU Europe),

  • customers may not be able to check the status of their payment on the PayU website,

  • unable to log in to the PayU Management Panel.

  • your transaction conversion rate may be lower than usual.

Payments via PayU not working? “We apologize for the inconvenience”

The announcement assured that actions would be taken to remove obstacles to the use of online payments. “We immediately started working on solving the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience,” it said.

Shortly later, the company issued another announcement. “Today, i.e. April 2, 2026 from 11:07 to 12:09 we faced a large Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack on the PayU infrastructure, which temporarily prevented payments via payment methods provided by PayU Europe,” we read.

The PayU system supports many different forms of online payment. It works with both the BLIK service and fast transfers, payment cards, purchases in the form of installments or deferred payments.
