Local media inform tourists that currently coming to the Canary Islands is associated with rest among strong winds and a rough ocean. All this through the so -called Kalima phenomena, i.e. the appearance of fine dust from the African Sahara. Hot and dry air masses and temperatures increase, and this has serious consequences.
Warnings in the Canary Islands
The authorities of the Canary Islands call for caution. Both residents and travelers are at risk. Be careful, among others during hiking trips or visiting popular attractions. Sometimes the desire to see majestic views can win with common sense, but with such strong winds, ignoring warnings can end tragically.
A recording appeared in social media, which shows one of the tourists admiring the landscapes on Fuerteventura. At one point, the wind easily turns a man who falls and strikes the rocky ground with all his strength. The film shows that it was difficult to maintain balance or won the element. At the same time, other people were in its surroundings, including kid. From the recording, it is easy to conclude that the gusts of wind were not only strong, but also very cold.
The worst will be in the mountains
The film suggests that the worst weather conditions in the Canary Islands will be found in the mountains. It is also worth remembering that Fuerteventura is generally famous for its strong wind, thanks to which surfers like this place. Currently, however, it is worth to refrain from many activities.
