Sports in the AI era. How Samsung OLED 2026 changes match viewing

Thierry Henry & Ben Jacobs

Sport has been one of the most important drivers of TV development for years, but only the current generation of Samsung OLED 2026 shows how deeply technology can go into the emotions of supporting.

In a year in which Thierry Henry – a football legend and a symbol of perfect sense of the game – became the brand ambassador, Samsung focuses on functions that are intended to reflect the dynamics of the stadium with a precision that has never existed before. These are no longer accessories. This is a systemic approach to image and sound that is intended to make the viewer feel like they are in the front row.

The most important element of this year’s models is the developed AI Football mode. Algorithms analyze the course of action in real time: the pace of passes, the positioning of players, the intensity of movement on the pitch. The TV automatically increases the contrast in key moments, improves the readability of fast plays and enhances details that are often lost in a standard broadcast – such as the movement of the ball or subtle changes in the direction of a winger’s run. This is a technology that not only “beautifies” the image, but interprets it as a tactical expert would.

Sound is essential

The second pillar is sound. In the OLED 2026 models and many other Neo QLED, Micro RGB and Mini LED models, Samsung has introduced a new generation of AI Sound Controller or AI Sound Controller Pro. The system analyzes not only the volume and direction of sounds, but also their importance for the course of the match. This is dynamic, intelligent mixing that aims to capture the drama of sports without the need to manually adjust settings. We can also set the proportions of the stadium sound and the commentator’s track ourselves. We have a menu with two sliders at our disposal that will allow us to set these proportions on an ongoing basis.

How to teach AI how we like to watch sports?

In Samsung TVs, in the AI Mode menu, there is an AI Adjustment Mode option, thanks to which the TV will know what colors or contrast we like to see during sports broadcasts.

The wizard for this function consists of three screens, each of which is responsible for a different image parameter, i.e. contrast, color saturation and color tone. Four graphic examples are presented on each screen, from which the user selects the one that best suits his preferences. Based on your choices, the artificial intelligence algorithm automatically adjusts the image settings.

A separate settings profile is created for different content categories (sports, movies or TV shows), which allows you to adjust the image even more precisely. Artificial intelligence independently recognizes the type of displayed content and automatically makes appropriate changes to image parameters, without the need for manual adjustments.

On a sunny day and late at night

Glare-Free technology also plays an important role, which was improved in 2026 especially for sports broadcasts. Elimination of light reflections and reflections means that the image remains readable even in a bright living room, and the ball does not “disappear” in overexposed parts of the screen. Combined with the high brightness of OLED panels and precise luminance control, this creates an effect that will be especially appreciated by fans watching matches during the day.

Another new feature is intelligent traffic optimization, which combines liquefaction algorithms with action context analysis. The TV recognizes whether we are dealing with a quick counterattack or a slow build-up of the game and selects processing parameters accordingly. Thanks to this, the image remains natural and at the same time exceptionally clear. This is a solution that – as Henry himself emphasizes – allows you to “see what cannot be seen with the naked eye.”

Thierry Henry’s ambassadorship is not accidental here. His slogan “See it on Samsung TV” is intended to emphasize that technology can be a tool for a deeper understanding of sports. Henry, known for his analytical approach to the game, fits perfectly into the brand’s philosophy: the TV is not only supposed to show the match, but also help to experience and interpret it. In the 2026 campaign, the emphasis is on this – on emotions that become more complete thanks to intelligent image and sound.
