Sportowy ORLEN – last days of registration for the program for clubs and academies

Sportowy ORLEN

ORLEN has been supporting Polish sport for years, but so far the company’s activities have been based primarily on sponsoring champions in their disciplines. The company met social expectations and prepared a program addressed to clubs and academies conducting regular sports activities with children and teenagers.

Sportowy ORLEN – recruitment lasts until the end of October!

In accordance with the assumptions of the ORLEN Sportowy program, support in the total amount of PLN 10 million will be provided to at least one hundred sports clubs and academies, which may apply for funds in the amount of up to PLN 100,000. The primary goal is not to raise great champions, but to improve the availability of sports activities for the youngest, who can currently be found in front of computers more often than on sports fields and backyards. The program rewards entities that engage children of both sexes and children with disabilities.

Importantly, in order to meet comments that could improve the implementation of the program and expand the group of potential participants (especially to clubs without the possibility of issuing bills and invoices), the assumptions of the program were updated, making it available to smaller entities, e.g. Student Sports Clubs. Clubs and academies can apply for financial support for the development of their activities – purchasing equipment, organizing competitions or training camps.

Recruitment for the program lasts until the end of October 2024. Who can apply? The basic criteria of Sportowy ORLEN is to conduct organized activities for at least two years continuously, related to conducting activities for children and teenagers up to 18 years of age. It is important that single-section clubs conducting exclusively football classes are excluded from recruitment. ORLEN has been cooperating with the football community in Poland for years, for example through programs such as Football Future with ORLEN or the Academy of Young Eagles, which is co-created with the Polish Football Association.

– We want to create a fashion for sports among the youngest. We realize that this is not an easy task, which is why it is so important to include parents and guardians in the activity, in addition to financial support. The “Sport is a school of life” campaign is intended to encourage them to do so. Poland ranks among the inglorious European countries in terms of the number of exemptions from physical education classes, which translates into the health of children and adolescents. ORLEN wants to change this – admits Lidia Kołucka, Executive Director of ORLEN Sponsorship.

Submitting an application is very simple. Just go to www.sportowyorlen.pl and fill out the appropriate form. It is worth trying, especially when the organization aspiring to the program has a passion for sport and a desire to develop, with the best interest of children and young people in mind.

Anita Włodarczyk, Aleksandra Mirosław and Bartosz Kurek – ambassadors of the program

The above-mentioned “Sport is a school of life” campaign shows how important it is to support sports, encouraging as many children and young people as possible to physical activity. Sports champions who need no introduction to fans in Poland and around the world were involved in the promotion.

The ambassador of the program is the Olympic gold medalist in timed sport climbing, Aleksandra Mirosław, world record holder in her discipline. The gold medalist of the Olympic Games in Paris shows how important it is to believe in your skills and consistent work in training.

Another face of the program is Bartosz Kurek, captain of the Polish volleyball team, which has brought many successes to our country in recent years. The White and Reds won silver medals in Paris, and Bartosz Kurek is an example of a player who has achieved practically everything in his discipline. Kurek does not forget where he comes from and willingly visits school gyms next to the largest sports arenas, being a huge motivation for young volleyball students.

The ambassador of the program and social campaign is also the three-time Olympic champion in hammer throw (2012, 2016, 2020) – Anita Włodarczyk. One of the most successful athletes in the history of her discipline, with her attitude, shows at every step that the slogan “Sport is the school of life” should accompany all aspiring athletes.

The need to create a fashion for sports

It is worth remembering that investing in the psychophysical development of children and adolescents will pay off many times in the future. The effect of this approach does not necessarily have to be medals, but improvement of the physical abilities, health parameters and social competences of children and adolescents. After all, sport is the best school of life.
