Spain is not only Barcelona. Poles fly here more often

Catalonia and Andalusia are not the most frequently chosen regions of Spain by tourists from the Vistula. Poles prefer other places.
Spain is one of the favorite countries of Poles. The rich cultural and natural values, a high number of sunny days during the year, or finally easy availability of cheap air connections make this country an ideal year -round direction. As in the case of Poland, in Spain it is not the capital that plays the role of the most tourist city. Surprisingly, nor Catalonia nor Andalusia are also among the most visited regions among tourists from Poland. So where do we fly most often? According to the data of the Ministry of Spanish tourism, in 2024 the Polish language could most often be heard on the Canary Islands and the Valencia region.
Canary Islands number one
Last year, the Canary Islands were visited by 22.3 percent of tourists from Poland, while only 17.7 percent of travelers from our country interested a visit to Catalonia, and in Andalusia – 18.4 percent. Balearies were worse, which was chosen by 15.2 percent of vacationers. Therefore, Poles do not discourage higher than in the case of continental Spain, the price of flights to Tenerife and Fuerteventura. Expenses for transport definitely reward temperatures that persist at a similar level throughout the year. Popular “Canary” can also be found much more often than other regions in the Polish offer of travel agencies. For many, it is also an opportunity for the first exotic holidays, but in a safe, “European” edition.
Poles love Alicante
Not Malaga or Barcelona, but Alicante, considered to be the most sunny city of Europe, today plays the role of the capital of Poles in Spain. The Costa Blanca coast in the south-eastern part of the country was visited in 2024 by nearly 847,000 tourists from our country, which means an increase of 57.2 percent compared to the previous year. The whole region of Valencia, to which the “White Coast” belongs, was a favorite Spanish direction for 18.5 percent of tourists from Poland.
Costa Blanca is not only a place for a short city-break or holiday vacation. It is there that Poles most often decide to buy real estate. Having a “second house” or using friends ‘hospitality means that the length of Poles’ stay in this region is impressive long and significantly exceeds the standard duration of the trip purchased at the travel agency. On average, tourists from our country come to the “White Coast” for nearly 20 nights.
