Space prices in Zakopane. That’s what you have to pay for the new bus

Elektryczny bus wjedzie na szlak do Morskiego Oka

New buses to Morskie Oko depart without passengers even in a picnic. We know how much you have to pay for the “electrician”.

On Thursday, May 1, electric buses ran on the trail leading from Palenica Białczańska to Morskie Oko. However, an alternative to combustion and horse -drawn tinsel turned out to be too expensive for the pocket of many tourists. You have to pay up to PLN 100 for one way. However, the Tatra National Park believes that visitors need time to get used to the new means of communication. “We will look at how it works, repair and modify,” says Magdalena Wyrujacz-Kozica for Gazeta Krakowska.

Crowds in the Tatra Mountains for a picnic

The picnic in Zakopane started with great momentum – crowds of tourists went down to the capital of the Polish Tatra Mountains before the official start of the long weekend. Finding the right quarters was not easy, because in April in the resort and its surroundings were rented up to 90 percent of available accommodation. Access also turned out to be a challenge, because despite the open tunnel in Zakopianka, huge traffic jams formed on the road, especially on the section in front of Nowy Targ. Those who chose trains did not avoid the crush – at a small station in Zakopane on May 1 it was difficult to go with a suitcase.

There are no people on buses

Unfortunately, the long -awaited electric buses, which on Thursday, had their official premiere could not count on such interest. According to RMF, there were no people willing for the first trip from Zakopane to Morskie Oko. Passengers only appeared at the course starting from Palenica Białczańska, but their number was still not satisfactory. “For now, interest is small, but TPN ensures that this is just the beginning,” writes Gazeta Krakowska.

Lack of success is to result from high travel prices. For covering the route from Zakopane to the most famous Tatra lake on board “Elektryka” you have to pay PLN 100 (and even PLN 110, if you buy a ticket not online, but at a tourist information point). For a slightly shorter course from Palenica, passengers must pay a fee of PLN 80.
