Sosnowski about the new concept of ROP: we will all pay more

The concept of the Polish model of extended manufacturer’s liability presented by the Ministry of Climate and Environment is very bad. He imposes a new tax on the introductory products in packaging, which will only increase the costs of products launched on the market. We are definitely against such an idea.
This is a concept that assumes the liquidation of the recovery organization, i.e. those entities that currently deal with raising performance in the waste management system. In fact, the ministry project says nothing about the performance of selective collection or sorting itself. Instead, we only get the obligation to pay, realized by introducing products in packaging.
If this concept came into force, its costs would be borne by residents and consumers, but they will bear them without any relationship with the system performance. We are afraid that this will lead to a situation where real costs and the rates of packaging fee will be two completely different things. There will also be no improvement or selective collection, or better sorting and higher recycling. There will also be no control of the effectiveness of spending our money, which is currently carried out by such entities as recovery organizations. In fact, more Polish women and Poles will pay for everything, without any benefits for them.
