South Tyrol – This bilingual area in northern Italy is known for its picturesque landscapes, vineyards and hiking trails, but it can also be a good place to start your skiing adventure.

A ski resort in a picturesque health resort

Located just above the town of Meran/Merano, Merano2000 is perfect for beginners and families with children. This winter it will be more easily accessible from Poland. From December 19, direct SkyAlps flights will be launched from Warsaw to Bolzano, which is about an hour’s drive from Merano. Tourists can also get here by car, e.g. from airports in Milan and the surrounding area.

Merano2000 offers 40 kilometers of perfectly prepared slopes, including 18 blue ones. These are perfect for beginners – both skiing adventures and the start of the season for people who are already better at skiing. Skiers will reach the top of the mountain by a modern cable car that starts from the city. Thanks to the extensive network of ski buses, you can get there without a car. Experienced instructors will help you learn and improve your skills. This year, the season start is scheduled for November 28.

Merano Spa. A lovely winter town

After an active day on the slopes, it is worth going to the famous Merano thermal baths located in the valley. It is a health resort that was already considered a resort in the 19th century, ideal for health-promoting relaxation. Thermal pools, saunas and relaxation zones will allow you to regenerate after an emotional day. The surrounding routes and trails are also well prepared for those who prefer mountain hiking. There are 15 cozy mountain shelters there, which are a perfect stop for both skiers and winter climbing or ski touring enthusiasts. It is also worth taking a walk around Merano itself, the older part of which is a perfect reflection of charming Italian towns.
