To enable Poles to do Christmas shopping, retail chains are extending the opening hours of their stores. Some will be open until almost midnight.

The period of pre-Christmas preparations is entering a decisive phase, and as preparations go, so does shopping. Popular retail chains extend the opening hours of their branches until late.

Kaufland and Aldi open until almost midnight

On April 1-3, our stores will be open longer, i.e. until 11:30 p.m., excluding branches located in shopping malls. This applies, among others, to the store in Białystok at ul. Wierzbowa 2, the supermarket in Warsaw located in the Fort Wola shopping center and in Nowy Sącz in the Trzy Korony shopping center – representatives of the Kaufland chain press office informed Bankier.pl.

On Holy Saturday, Kaufland chain branches will be open until 1:00 p.m. The situation will be similar when it comes to Aldi stores. On Friday, most of them will be open until 11 p.m., and on Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Extended hours apply to most of our branches. However, there may be exceptions, such as stores located in shopping malls – adds the Aldi representative – emphasizes Edyta Bracik, Leader of the Communication Strategy and External Relations Team at Aldi Polska, in an interview with the portal.

Auchan stores will also be open until 11 p.m. on Friday and until 1 p.m. on Saturday – Due to increased customer traffic, work schedules are adjusted to current operational needs to ensure efficient service while maintaining applicable working time standards – Hanna Bernatowicz from Auchan informed Bankier.pl.

It is worth taking advantage of the extended opening hours of stores, because most of them will be open until tomorrow. 1:00 p.m. The exception to these rules are small local stores and franchise outlets, such as Żabka, where the owner decides on the opening hours. If he is the one behind the counter, the store may be open longer, even after 2 p.m.

On the following days, i.e. Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, the vast majority of branches will be closed to trade. On April 5 and 6, rules similar to those on non-trading Sundays will apply, which means that all large supermarkets, discount stores and shopping malls will be closed. We will be able to afford larger purchases on Tuesday, April 7.
