How many commercial Sundays will there be in 2025? When exactly will they fall out? You will find all the details in this text.
At the beginning, it should be noted that in 2025, there will still be restrictions on trading on Sundays in Poland, just like in previous years. Pursuant to applicable law, shopping in most stores will only be possible on selected shopping Sundays.

In 2025, eight trading Sundays are planned, in accordance with the Act restricting trade on Sundays and holidays. Below is the full list:

These dates are particularly important for people who plan larger purchases, because large-format stores will be closed on other Sundays.
Exceptions to the trade ban
Despite the restrictions, there are some exceptions that allow trading on non-trading Sundays. In 2025, the following will operate without restrictions:

Shops at gas stations – often offering basic food and industrial products.

Postal offices – if their activities include the provision of postal services.

Owner-run stores – if sales are handled personally by the owner.

Bakeries, confectioneries and ice cream parlors – as establishments offering fresh food products.

Pharmacies and drugstores – key to ensuring the availability of medicines and basic hygiene products.
Why was trading restricted on Sundays?
Restrictions on Sunday trading were introduced in Poland in 2018 to improve the quality of life of trade workers. The act aims to enable employees to spend more time with their families, as well as to support local entrepreneurs, such as small shop owners.
