Shopping during live coverage. Madness in Poland from June 15

Tik Tok

It worked well in China, it will also have a chance to prove itself in Poland – live shopping. Poles will clash with Tik Tok Shop while watching videos recorded by influencers, but not only that.

Live shopping is a sales model combining live video broadcasts with e-commerce. Once known only from television, teleshopping has boldly entered the world of e-commerce. Without thinking, without reflection, only under the influence of impulses. This sales model allows you to watch product presentations in real time and purchase them immediately directly from the player, often using special discounts and promotional codes. In this case, it’s about Tik Tok Shop.

From the first day of operation of the service, brands known to Poles want to join it: Media Markt, Rossmann, Empik, Modivo, Samsung, Reserved, Bakalland and Wedel. Obviously, first come, first serve.

Starter clients. There are already companies willing to sell and deliver parcels

Brands do not act blindly – customer preference research shows that products related to fashion, beauty and electronics will be most popular in Tik Tok Shop. The “Shop” tab will present products tailored to individual users and short videos with reference to the website of the advertised product.

The Chinese platform will make payments available with Google Pay and Apple Pay, by payment card and Blik. However, there will be no deferred payments. Agreements for the delivery of parcels have already been concluded with several companies operating on the Polish market. The available product delivery methods will include InPost parcel machines and DPD and GLS couriers.

TikTok declares that 200 million people actively use its platform in Europe, and in Poland – 14.2 million users.

In mid-June, Poles will be buying like the Spanish, French and Germans

– Experience from the USA shows that TikTok Shop is a good solution for a wide range of businesses: from large retail chains that want to build a new sales branch on TikTok, creating an additional channel, to small producers for whom our tool may prove more helpful than, for example, their own online store – declared Rafał Drzewiecki, country director at TikTok, in an interview for the news portal poznascihandlowe.pl.

At first, sellers will get a promotional commission from the Tik Tok platform. For the first 90 days it will be 2%. After this period, it will probably increase to the standard rate of 9% for other markets.

Sellers will have several opportunities to advertise their products as part of a service called GMV Max. Thanks to it, for an appropriate fee, it will be possible, for example, to better position products in the “Shop” tab. They will also be able to establish cooperation with influencers who will promote a given product for a commission agreed between the parties. The estimated time for verifying a given seller and allowing him/her to join TikTok Shop is two weeks.

The platform is already available in Spain, Ireland, Germany, France and Italy. With the entry into the Polish market, TikTok Shop will also appear in the Netherlands, Belgium and Austria.
