She started taking pictures at Chopin Airport. Rapid reaction of the services
The Georgian citizen was fined at the Chopin Airport in Warsaw. The woman photographed the border check positions.
Officers from the Warsaw -Okęcie Border Guard facility reminded the ban in force at Chopin Airport. Last weekend, on August 18, he was broken by a Georgian citizen.
Chopin airport. A foreigner punished with a fine
The woman flew to Warsaw from Kutaisi and stood in a queue for passport control. At that time, she photographed border check -in positions. The officers did not stop at admonition – the foreigner was punished for a penalty for the offense, pursuant to art. 210 para. 1 point 5a of the Aviation Law. After the service was completed, she was allowed to continue her journey.
The Vistula Border Guard Department reminded that at the Chopin Airport it is prohibited from photographing border control areas, including devices and border service positions. “This is due to the issues of security and protection of border procedures. Clear signs and pictograms placed in the terminal inform about it,” we read.
At the airport, it is prohibited from photographing and filming miners-pyrotechnic recognition activities and rescue operations, passenger and luggage safety stations, as well as passport control points and documents, without the authorization issued by the manager.
No photos also in other places
This is not the only ban on taking photos in Poland – until recently, pursuant to the Act on the defense of the homeland, it was not possible to photograph “objects particularly important for the security or defense of the state.” This led to an absurd situation in which the tourist decided to ridicule the recipe. He photographed the Port of Gdańsk from the pier in Brzeźno and allowed a friend to report to him about committing an offense.
From August 12, 2025, the ban on photographing these objects is not so wide. It was limited only to military units and special services objects, if they are specially marked.
