An avid fisherman set a new record! This was the measurement of the huge brown trout that grabbed the hook.
Caroline Langdale – a fishing enthusiast from Idaho – caught a huge Salmo trutta (a specimen from the salmon family – Salmonidae) in the South Fork Snake River.
How long was it?
A new record was broken. The trout was as long as a man’s arm!
The fisherman went to a reservoir in the US state of Idaho at the end of May this year. Before she pulled the fish out of the river, she reeled it in (the phase that starts with the hook and ends with the landing) for about 10 minutes.
How old was the specimen caught by Langdale? 30.5 inches, which is approximately 77.5 centimeters – the portal reported on Monday (July 6). A new record has officially been set in the state of Idaho!
Idaho Fish and Game data cited by Bro Bible shows that over the last 40 years, only 0.007 percent S. trutta was over 30 inches long.
