Sharp reactions to a new hotel in Zakopane. “Disturbed sense of style and taste”
This newly opened hotel in Zakopane is already reluctant to residents. As a reason, they indicate, among others splendor and high prices.
Zakopane has not been like a quiet mountain resort for years. Increasingly, modern architectural forms, different from local tradition, appear at its central points. Less than a year ago at Piłsudskiego Street, in the place of the previous Daglezja Hotel, a Diamond mountain object was created, which has been arousing considerable controversy since then. Some residents and tourists believe that the object is stabbed the city. “This is a vision of a gentleman who has a very disturbed sense of style and taste,” says one of the Internet users.
This Zakopane Hotel does not like everyone
The mountain diamond at Piłsudskiego Street in Zakopane immediately catches the eye. The magnificent wooden building of the hotel facility is located on the way between Krupówki and Wielka Krokwia – so many tourists pass it both in winter and summer. However, residents who have at least a few reservations for the appearance of the facility would not like this promotion of their city. The problem begins at the very entrance, which is guarded by two wooden bears. Gazeta Krakowska draws attention to, among others, pools, which were built so that bathing people can already be seen from the street, as well as to elements of the room finish. “Details like lamps, door handles and other decorations with their shapes refer to regional designs – the oscypek spindle shape, or mountain diamond,” reads. “This is not highlander’s splendor. It is as if someone wanted to give a mosquito with pistachio butter instead of garlic butter and called them mosquito in Dubai,” says one of the Internet users. There are more such opinions.
It is not cheap
The object looks expensive and exclusive, and at the same time cheap and shrinks, which unfortunately only deepens the image crisis of the Tatra resort. “All this currently Zakopane is one horrendous kitsch. Such Disneyland packed in tinsel, greed and total scrudative,” believes another person who did not like the appearance of the hotel. How much is accommodation in one of the apartments? Staying in a picnic starts from 3,900 zlotys for a double room for two nights with breakfast. Although it is not cheap, buried in the past has often surprised tourists with higher prices.
