Serious injury to the Polish representative! There has been a breakage

Maksymilian Granieczny

Maksymilian Granieczny will not have fond memories of his trip to Lublin for the Bogdanka Volley Cup friendly tournament. The Polish representative suffered a serious injury.

Maksymilian Granieczny is a man who, together with Jakub Nowak, broke into the senior Polish national volleyball team. Coach Nikola Grbic trusted the young players so much that they found a place in a small squad, including: during the most important tournament of the 2025 season – the world championship tournament.

Unfortunately, Granieczny’s return to club football was not a happy one. During the Bogdanka Volley Cup friendly tournament held in Lublin, the representative libero suffered a serious injury.

Maksymilian Granieczny injured! There was a serious fracture

The news about the extremely talented libero was provided by his club, JSW Jastrzębski Węgiel. Interestingly, Granieczny returned to this famous place in volleyball Poland, being a student of the local academy.

“We would like to inform you that Maksymilian Granieczny suffered an injury during yesterday’s match. The initial examination revealed a fracture of the metacarpal bone. After returning to Silesia from the tournament in Lublin, our libero will undergo further tests, which will provide an answer as to how long the break in the game awaits our player. Good health, Maks! Stay strong!” – reported on the club’s social media.

It is expected that the libero’s break could last at least a few weeks. In the new team from Jastrzębie-Zdrój, Granieczny was to compete with another young and talented player, Jakub Jurczyk. The boy, who made his debut at the end of the previous season, forced by an injury to Jakub Popiwczak, will now have to get back into the game seriously. It must be admitted, however, that Jurczyk passed the test at that time, competing for the highest possible rate during the PlusLiga play-off phase.

In Saturday’s semi-finals of the Bogdanka Volley Cup, coach Andrzej Kowal’s team lost 2:3 to the hosts, Bogdanka LUK Lublin. On Sunday, the team from Jastrzębie will play for 3rd place, while the Polish champions will fight for success on their home ground, competing with PGE Projekt Warszawa.
