Serious injury to Piotr Zieliński? The club issued a statement

Piotr Zieliński

Piotr Zieliński had to leave the field prematurely in the match against Croatia. It may turn out that his injury is more serious than initially thought.

Piotr Zieliński has had a successful training camp for the Polish national team. Our midfielder scored one goal in both the matches against Portugal and Croatia. He can clearly be considered one of the team’s leaders. In the second of the above-mentioned matches, he served as captain until he left the field. He was forced to leave the pitch in the 74th minute due to an injury.

Zieliński with health problems

The player wearing the number 10 on his back showed coach Michał Probierz that he needed a change. There was a grimace of pain on his face. After the match against Croatia, Touchstone stated at a press conference that the injury was most likely not serious. The reality may turn out to be slightly different.

On Thursday, Zieliński’s club – Inter Milan – published the first announcement about the Polish player’s health condition. It turns out that the 30-year-old has damaged flexor muscles in his right thigh. There are many indications that on Sunday the player from the Milan team will be absent in the prestigious clash with AS Roma, in which Nicola Zalewski usually plays.

Inter will provide further information

In the coming days, Inter will provide more information about the seriousness of Zieliński’s injury. Certainly, a possible longer break would be painful for the Pole, not only in terms of the injury itself, but also because he would completely lose the rhythm of the game.

Zieliński already has to work hard to win a place in the team’s starting lineup, so one can wonder what will happen if he is actually forced to take a break due to health problems. It will then be difficult to return to a high level.

After seven rounds of Serie A, Inter is in second place in the table with 14 points. His closest rival scored four points less.
